Allerton Park and Retreat Center

The Midwest Drosophila Conference is held at the Allerton Park and Retreat Center just outside of Monticello, Illinois. Unlike previous years, room reservations at Allerton are not included in the meeting registration. Allerton is only half an hour from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus, an easy drive from the University’s Willard Airport, and a simple excursion from Chicago, Indianapolis, St. Louis, or the Quad Cities.

Away from the distractions and noise of city life, conference guests enjoy luxurious surroundings in a Georgian-style mansion with exquisite wood floors, marble fireplaces, elegant furnishing, and breathtaking views of the surrounding meadow, reflecting pond, and woodlands which are teeming with birds and wildlife.
